Bernie Kankiewicz
Bernie is a CPA who lives in northeast Phoenix. He first built models as a kid and took up the hobby again 20 years ago. He has always looked at building models as an inexpensive hobby that he could pick up and put down as he has the time. Lately it has become a bit of an obsession. He really enjoys the relationships he has built up through this hobby. His biggest regret is not spending more time listening to Andy Kallen before he passed on. Andy was a great story teller and a wealth of knowledge regarding auto racing history and all aspects of this hobby. For a long time, Bernie built mainly current NASCAR, but lately he has tried to build all categories of cars.

Dale Mickley
Dale lives in Queen Creek and likes to create scratch builds. Visit Dale’s website for lots of pictures of his builds.

Brian Neal
Brian is a corrections officer living in Mesa. He has been building model cars since early 2007. He switched to models from rebuilding actual 1970’s muscle cars because it’s cheaper and faster. He still has the itch for the full size car as you can see from the 76 Mustang Cobra II below.

Hal Sanguinetti

Hal is a Charter Member of the CCM and prefers building drag racing-related models. However, he enjoys all models: cars, planes, armor and ships. He is an NHRA Announcer, working at Speedworld Drag Strip outside of Phoenix, and also enjoys travel, theatre organ and WW2 history. His personal race car is "Tigger's Digger", a 1968 Woody Gilmore-built ex-Top Fueler, now configured as a bracket/Nostalgia racer with a 377" small block Chevy, injected on alcohol. Hal is the Torco Racing Oil distributor for Arizona and also publishes newspapers for Speedworld and for AMX, Arizona's #1 motocross club.

Greg Wann
Greg Wann moved here from Indiana in August 2000. He works at ASU as a night plumber. He joined the Cactus Car Model Club in 2005. He had built and destroyed quite a few models in the late 60's and mid 70's, it was easy to get bored in the winter living on a small farm! He builds whatever catches his eye. He prefers convertibles of muscle cars and show cars and the original issued kits that he remembers seeing, building and destroying. Since joining the club, he discovered resin casting.
